Late Freebies

How to Take a Late Freebie

You will get two late freebies total in this class. Using a late freebie will give you a one-week extension on that assignment/paper, no questions asked. A late freebie can be used on a paper submission packets, a weekly reading summary assignment, or the Macomb Scavenger Hunt assignment. The final portfolio will not be accepted late.

Late freebies must be taken BY the due date. If you forget to do an assignment and forget to take a late freebie, you will not be able to receive credit for that assignment. I strongly recommend using a planner for this class that you check regularly. 

On Google Drive

(for taking a late freebie on a paper submission packet or the Macomb Scavenger Hunt assignment)

1. Go into your ENGL 1180 folder in Google Drive.

2. Right-click on the folder for the paper that is due, and then click "Rename" (1).

3. Rename the folder with the paper name, followed by "Late Freebie" (2). For example "Paper 1—Late Freebie." Then, click "Ok."

On Canvas

(for taking a late freebie on a weekly reading summary assignment)

1. Go to our Canvas class, and then, click on Grades (1). 

2. Click on the assignment name (2). 

3. Type in the comment box “Late Freebie” (3) and click “Save" (4).

4. The comment should now show above the comment box (5).
